...is fraught with hazards. Let's face it. But here's one thing that the man in my life loves: the big woollies. Yeah, that's what we call them around the house and there's lots of them everywhere. They're actually out of Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitting Around and officially called, "Woodsman's Thick Socks." I knit them on a tiny circular until the heel (then go to d.p) with worsted weight yarn.
